“Andrea is so kind, open, warm, and knowledgeable. She puts you at ease as a parent. She’s not going to say you’re doing something wrong, or you shouldn’t do this. She knows everyone has to find their own way of being a parent.”

What we’ll
cover together

The first thing you need to know is this guidance and education is all about you and what you want to know. I’ll tailor your session to meet your needs.

Of course, lots of new parents ask similar questions. So here are some topics we can cover.

·      Feeding your baby. We’ll talk breastfeeding, bottle feeding, expressing and weaning. Plus, you’ll learn how milk is made and how you can establish and maintain a good supply.

·      Safe, gentle baby care. Make your baby feel secure, keep them safe, and support their development. Techniques to make lifting, changing, dressing, and bathing your baby easier and more fun for you both.

·      Safe sleeping. It’s natural for young babies to wake to feed. So, let’s make night feeding easier for you with safe sleeping advice.

·      Supporting a breastfeeding mother. Tips to care for your partner at this challenging time.

·       Preparing your home for your baby. From cots to cloth nappies, we cover the basics. Spoiler, you need far less stuff than you think!

Think about what you’d like to learn and let me know your questions when you email me to book your support session.

What it’s like
learning with me

I’m here to help you find your own unique way of being a parent. The truth is there’s very little in parenting that’s wrong. It’s about trusting your intuition.

This experience is designed for you and your support person. If you’re in a couple it’s particularly rewarding when both parents attend. If you’re a solo parent, feel free to invite a person you trust along too.

We’ll meet in your home so you can practice your new skills in your safe environment. Hands-on learning is the best way to master new ways of caring for your baby, so once I’ve showed and explained something to you, I’ll get you to do it yourself.

Most of all, I’m here to listen. You can tell me anything and ask me anything. This is a safe space where it’s all about the wellbeing of your new family.

“When I first had my son, I struggled with anxiety and a sense of being completely out of my depth. I turned to multiple sources for information but found much of it conflicting and confusing. Andrea helped me realise that trusting my instinct as I got to know and love my wee man was absolutely the right approach.”

Give your
new family
the best start

New parents often tell me they feel shell-shocked by the intensity of having a baby to care for. Most antenatal classes focus on pregnancy and birth, but what comes after is often much harder. You deserve the right support.
